CLEARWATER — A 28-year-old motorist was killed in a Tuesday morning crash after he ran a red light, police said.
Christopher S. Zurman, 28, of St. Petersburg, was driving a 2001 Lexus south on Myrtle Avenue and had stopped at a red light at the Drew Street intersection just before 7:30 a.m., police said.
For unknown reasons, Zurman continued through the red light and into the path of a 1996 Jeep, driven by Kevin S. Burke, 26, of Clearwater, police said.
Zurman was killed in the collision. Burke was taken to Morton Plant hospital with injuries that were not life-threatening, officials said.
