TAMPA — A former NBA player faces drunken driving and bribery of a public servant charges after being stopped early Wednesday morning.
Loren G. Woods, 33, of Tampa, was arrested at E Cass and N Governor streets at 4:05 a.m., according to jail records.
He played six years in the NBA after attending the University of Arizona, according to ESPN.com.
The 7-foot-1, 300-pound center played one season with the Miami Heat in 2003 and played his final season with the Houston Rockets in 2008.
Records show he refused a blood-alcohol test. He was arrested on a misdemeanor DUI charge, records show, and on a felony charge of bribing a public servant.
He was taken to the Hillsborough County Jail and later released on $2,500 bail.
