ST. PETERSBURG — A woman was killed and a St. Petersburg man charged with first-degree murder Sunday morning in what police said was an attempted murder-suicide.
Police arrested and charged Albert F. Crandall, 54, who may have lived at the murder scene.
Police said Crandall killed the woman by suffocating her and then attempted to take his own life at 661 77th Ave. N, leaving behind a note.
Crandall was "treated and medically cleared" at Bayfront Medical Center.
The name of the victim has not been released pending notification of next of kin.
The woman had been pronounced dead at the scene by medical personnel.
