PORT RICHEY — A man ordered a beer Thursday afternoon from a Port Richey bar. He left to get some money, then returned to his beer.
One problem. While he was away, sheriff's deputies say, John Whittle, 52, stole an undisclosed amount of cash from a nearby Wells Fargo branch at 8994 State Road 52.
Deputies found Whittle at the Hay Loft bar on State Road 52 and arrested him on suspicion of robbery. A bartender there told a deputy that Whittle ordered a beer and left for about 30 minutes before returning.
Whittle, whose home address is in New Port Richey, was expected to be booked in the Pasco County Jail on Thursday afternoon.
